Our Lord says in His Noble Book,
“Every soul shall taste death…” [Al-Anbiyaa`:35]
And
"Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you even if you are in fortresses built up strong and high!" [An-Nisaa`:78]

So this is the inevitable end of all of us. All of us will die and thus embark on our journey to the hereafter. As with every journey, provisions are needed; but for this fateful departure, it is not food, drink or wealth that will be of benefit to us but the deeds that we sent forth during our time in this dunya.
Al-Bukhaari recorded from Anas Ibn Malik (radhiyAllaahu ‘anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,

“Three things follow the deceased person, and two of them return while one remain behind with him. The things which follow him are his family, his wealth and his deeds. His family and his wealth return while his deeds remain.”

Shaykh Khalid Namazy (hafidhahullaah) will admonish us concerning the reality of death and explain to us how we can prepare for the day we depart from this world and by the Permission of Allaah inspire us to work for the hereafter.

We ask Allaah rectify all of our affairs, to keep us firm upon this deen and to take our souls at the time when He is most pleased with us.
